Since being introduced to rock climbing at a young age my passion for the outdoors has grown steadily over the years. The combination of rope skills I have learnt, along with the Scottish Highlands has led to my enthusiasm for winter mountaineering. This has been further enhanced by my decision to explore the Arctic in 2009 when I joined a team of fifteen to conduct glacial research over a 10-week period, travelling by cross-country skis and using winter mountain skills to navigate the broad and expansive glaciers.
True exploration is becoming increasingly hard to come by and so many routes have been worn and exhausted. After all, the true excitement is to make your own tracks, and to discover parts of the world that are yet to be unveiled . Magnetic Junction does a very good job in sharing this information, in a sensible and sustainable way, whilst recommending appropriate gear to help you in your adventure.
When I am not in the mountains, I am reading Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh.
