Will Ross Magnetic JunctionAfter treading a trail around the world in 2009 I got hooked on the search to find somewhere new. It didn’t take me long to realise that there are so many places that we don’t really hear about, perhaps because they are difficult to get to or just because they aren’t established tourist destinations.

In July 2010 I set up Magnetic Junction as a project to plug this gap and promote a fuller analysis of sustainable tourism, a theme which came as a response to an accumulation of air miles during my travels in 2009.

As a tourism option that owes its existence to natural environments, adventure travel demands answers to responsible retail and travel questions. While solutions may not be perfect, and efforts still ongoing, much of the task of Magnetic Junction is to inform and stimulate an interest in the structural difference that can be made to companies and communities to aid preservation today.

Apart from managing Magnetic Junction I am a contributor for greentraveller.co.uk and a student of History at the University of Edinburgh.
